Goal
The PRINCE2® Foundation course covers the basics of the PRINCE2® method. The training course is aimed at giving delegates an understanding of the philosophy behind the PRINCE2® method and also at preparing delegates for the official PRINCE2® Foundation exam.
Participants
This course is suitable for Project Managers, Team Managers, project support staff and quality assurance staff. It is also suited for anybody who is even remotely involved and/or participating in one or more projects.
Course description
Delegates will be shown how the model is setup, how the different project activities and project roles are linked together and how PRINCE2® deals with exceptions that are imminent to occur in any kind of project. During the PRINCE2® Foundation course delegates will learn how to set up a project management organization that is responsible for managing and planning the project. Delegates will be taught how to define the different project management roles to guarantee that the project is run in a most effective and efficient way. The method of management by exception will play a crucial role in handling project issues.
General information
An accredited PRINCE2® trainer will give the training course. The course consists of a mix of (mostly) theory and practical exercises. Most exercises will be done in groups.
Duration and exam
The training is 2.5 days. There is the possibility to also follow an exam training, followed by the exam. In that case the training takes 3 days.
To take the PRINCE2® Practitioner exam delegates must have passed the PRINCE2® Foundation exam.
Delagates are suppost to study for some hours in the evening for this course.
